List events in the system, allowing filtering by PID, program name, event ID, or event name, with options for verbose output or listing attached events.<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

Optional. Specify the process id by which to filter events.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Optional. Specify the program name by which to filter events. If multiple instances of the specified program name exist, information will be shown for all instances.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

-e event_id<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Optional. Specify the event id by which to filter events.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

-E event_name<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Optional. Specify the event name by which to filter events.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

-v<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

\n

Optional. Specify this flag to enable verbose output.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

-a<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

Optional. Specify this flag to list all tasks and attached events.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

-h|–help<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

Optional. Specify either flag to display help messages.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

list_events<\/strong>
\nThe above command will produce two lists of data. One list displays output of all processes and the events created by each process. Another list display output of all processes and the events attached to each process.<\/p>\n

list_events<\/strong> -e 33554448
\nThe above command will list the process that created and is attached to the event with event id – 33554448<\/p>\n

list_events<\/strong> -E delta_flush
\nThe above command will list the process that created and is attached to the delta_flush event<\/p>\n

list_events<\/strong> -E advance_mode
\nThe above command will list the process that created and is attached to the advance_mode event. The output will not contain the actual process that created this event due to the process no longer running.<\/p>\n

\nThe above command will list the events that have been created and are attached to the program with the process id = 2713641<\/p>\n

list_events\u00a0<\/b>-P gp_test
\nThe above command will list the events that have been created and are attached to the gp_test program. If multiple gp_test programs are running, the created and attached events will be displayed for each running instance of gp_test. Each instance of gp_test will be uniquely identified with the corresponding process id.<\/p>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

Notes:<\/h3>\n

Up to 7000 events can be listed in the output.<\/p>\n

Sometimes the output for a process does not contain the process name. This is due to the process no longer existing. For instance, if specifying an event named advance_mode as an option, the process name will not be shown because the sys_start program created the event. sys_start is a program that no longer exists after first running.<\/p>\n
