{"id":4459,"date":"2019-03-01T16:48:24","date_gmt":"2019-03-01T16:48:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cyflexdoc.wpengine.com\/?p=4459"},"modified":"2019-03-01T17:39:44","modified_gmt":"2019-03-01T17:39:44","slug":"use-of-msu_set","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cyflex.com\/index.php\/use-of-msu_set\/","title":{"rendered":"Use of msu_set"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Recently, we have encountered some issues with MSU data and displays related to whether the engine or \u2018test object\u2019 is actually running.\u00a0 A cell may show up on the monitor as running when the engine is not, or vice versa.<\/p>\n<p>Some of these issues have been tracked down to an incorrect application of the \u201cmsu_set\u201d command, usually in a script or in a gp_test procedure.<\/p>\n<p>It is okay to have a gp_test procedure set an MSU state with this command to indicate test progress, such as \u201cWaiting on Engineering\u201d or similar states, but the \u201cmsu_set\u201d command should not be used to set the \u201cRunning\u201d state on or off.\u00a0 The management of the \u201cRunning\u201d state is handled by the \u201ccell_mon\u201d application which automatically sets the \u201cRunning\u201d state and also handles the \u201cUnexpected Shutdown\u201d and \u201cStarter Disable\u201d states.<\/p>\n<p>In future CyFlex releases, we will not allow the \u201cmsu_set\u201d command to modify the \u201cRunning\u201d state, so it would be a good idea to clean this up now if you have any cases where it is doing that.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recently, we have encountered some issues with MSU data and displays related to whether the engine or \u2018test object\u2019 is actually running.\u00a0 A cell may show up on the monitor as running when the engine is not, or vice versa.
